I have some dashboard systems I want to restart nightly. I know how to set Windows Update to restart at that specific time. I also know how to schedule tasks to force a reboot. How should I schedule nightly reboots which will always reboot regardless, but will install updates to reboot if necessary? shutdown -r -f will not install updates, and setting the update timer will not shutdown nightly. I didn't installing ubuntu alongside my windows7. I have windows7 installed in my ssd and ubuntu in another. Right before I install ubuntu, I unplugged all my other hdd. 1st because it the ubuntu installation somehow didn't detect the hdd I want to install onto and 2nd because in that way I would be I didn't choose the wrong hdd to install ubuntu onto. What we have: A server with a Linux distribution on it. No physical access to that server. The server can be accessed via Serial Terminal or via network using SSH, for example. I can also boot that server into rescue mode using an OS on network and then coect to that server. As you may know, in this mode you can do things like system repair, backups and all the stuff. I have been trying to install keybase on my OSX exteal dev drive. It fails to install gnupg. I have laptop with WIN 7 Enterprise and installed bitlocker. Now I want to re-install win 7. It's possible or disc will not allowed me to install new copy of win7? I'm using Git at work (on Windows 8), but we have a variable in AD called 'HomeDrive', which is aoyingly set to a network drive. Git has decided to install the git bash and other utilities here, which is super aoying. I was wondering if it's possible to go into Git and edit the $HomeDrive and $HomePath variables as to make Git run off the C drive. I uninstalled all the pre-installed Windows apps, including the Store itself. I would like to get it back, and I have been searching around for guides. When I use this command Get-Appxpackage -Allusers, there is no "Microsoft.WindowsStore_*****_8wekyb3d8bbwe" listed. Sorry if it's wrong place to ask a question like this. I installed Avast to fix a malware, and then all websites barring few (basically Google) won't open. I've uninstalled avast but the problem persists. I've checked Firewall, reset permissions using Onyx but the issue persists. I can open all sites in safe mode. And I've removed all files of Avast. I'm currently ruing Windows 10 on my machine. For reasons that are not particularly important at the moment, I require Windows 7 installed. I have tried ruing it in VMware Workstation 12 Player, and it performs awfully. (My computer is also not very powerful.) Because of that, I have downloaded a Windows 7 iso from Microsoft, mounted it in Windows and executed Setup.exe. I went through the installation, chose a 50GB partition I made earlier and let it do its thing. Last night I installed the latest debian to replace a particularly corrupted old ubuntu installation. When I went to reboot, it just gets into an endless cycle of reboots and doesn't even get to a grub prompt. What do I do now? Two things I remember that might be useful: I made the /dev/sda8 partition I was installing it on bootable. Not sure why. When installing GRUB, it said that my computer looked like it used EFI (I think) and asked if I wanted to force Grub to be installed in the place where EFI was guaranteed to find it. As some of google chrome's dependencies for Linux are unable to be met (libstdc++6 and lsb-base), I've been unable to update it, which bothers me. So I've tried to install Google Chrome for Windows. I have installed wine (version 1.6.1) and it seems to be working. In addition, I've gotten winetricks. I have 64-bit Linux Mint 13 and have gotten the standalone Windows installer for 64 bit systems.
