So converting a new extension into a mode office, going to have speaker in ceiling and what not, but my question is this, how to plan the LAN network installation within my walls.
Here is the background info- Virgin Media UK fibre optic cable going under my living room floor boards to the office rear of the house, the cable goes behind stud wall and then out to a router on the shelf. As i will be having 2 desks, will be nice to use these with Etheet sockets RJ45.
Question is - majority of devices i have got are wireless and 2 pcs wired (out of choice) - could i just use etheet cable /cat5e for 2 ports on back of the router, feed them into a hole behind the stud wall and then to the RJ45 sockets in the wall.
I've read some have used a switch, some have used patch panel, i dont require this much just the basic for consistent connection.
Let me know your thoughts, thanks in advance!
