Last night I installed the latest debian to replace a particularly corrupted old ubuntu installation. When I went to reboot, it just gets into an endless cycle of reboots and doesn't even get to a grub prompt. What do I do now?
Two things I remember that might be useful: I made the /dev/sda8 partition I was installing it on bootable. Not sure why.
When installing GRUB, it said that my computer looked like it used EFI (I think) and asked if I wanted to force Grub to be installed in the place where EFI was guaranteed to find it. I said yes, since that seemed to be the most logical thing to me at the time.
