I have Windows 10 on a Surface Pro 3. I am trying to use Visual Studio Code. Unfortunately, there seems to be no combination whatsoever where I can run my program. I run into a problem with my exteal HDD, i used it for backups but when i reinstalled windows (and forgot to remove the HDD) my HDD got whiped. After the whipe suddenly my HDD splitted itself into multiple Disks. Ive tried evrything and googles alot but no succes. I would like to bring it back to one disk, just like it was when i bought it. Every once in a while I run a certain program (MATLAB) and it takes up too much memory. At this stage the physical mem is at ~100% and the computer barely works. I then terminate MATLAB and I can see the memory is freed on the task manager (image). However, it takes about 5-10 minutes until I have full control over my computer back. In these 10 minutes the computer gradually becomes usable, open programs get 'unfreezed', etc. I guess that if MATLAB consumed all the memory then some other program's data was saved in the swap mem, but is it okay for this process of 'recovery' to take such a long time? I have limited opportunities to test components in other computers, so I'm trying to find out what is broken in other ways. I have two main issues: Graphical artifacts. Using command prompt, how can I change my Gmail address useame on my local account back to Microsoft. It doesn't let me sign in. You see my Gmail address but when I put my password in, it said to change my Microsoft password to sign in. But it's not a Microsoft account. I have ASUS zenbook UX32VD (i5 version) and it only has 4GB of RAM preinstalled and while I originally thought that it has two RAM expansion slots it tued out it doesn't! So as I am on LINUX I used an lshw application to check this out and this is what it tued out: Program shows me that it still has an extra slot while I can't physically see it. Weird. Also 4GB of RAM are divided among two containers and I suspect that 2GB of RAM is solderd on the motherboard while 2GB resides in my expansion slot. The other expansion slot is somehow nonexistent... Don't look for the drivers on inteet, /sbin/vboxconfig builds them. The problem was the old drivers were still present and preferred. So I removed the old drivers and ran /sbin/vboxconfig again, this time it worked.sudo mv /lib/modules/3.16.0-4-amd64/updates/dkms/vbox* /tmp(Moving to /tmp instead of rm just in case)The directory may vary, I found it in the first command in my question with lsmod then modinfo. That "legacy console" option should only be available on a shortcut to cmd.exe, not on cmd.exe itself. So hopefully something is wrong with your shortcut and not with the actual cmd.exe. Try browsing to c:windowssystem32 (or whatever your system dir is), then ruing cmd.exe directly from there. Alteatively, press WIN+R and run c:windowssystem32cmd.exe directly. If that works like normal, then just delete the existing shortcut that's giving you the problems and create a new shortcut, that should fix it. If ruing cmd.exe directly also doesn't work like normal, here are some other ideas: update your windows updates try system restore to the most recent point before this problem appeared try ruin...
