I have Windows 10 on a Surface Pro 3. I am trying to use Visual Studio Code. Unfortunately, there seems to be no combination whatsoever where I can run my program. Any time I hit F5 or ctrl f5 or shift f5, the windows 10 search bar from the OS pops up. I'm playing around with my fresh Windows 2012 R2 VM and am following this guide to convert it to a 'workstation'. I have network discovery on and all the other advanced sharing settings necessary on my server-tued-workstation. I have a Win 8 VM that is hosting a shared folder and my win 10 machine that's hosting a shared folder. The majority of the time, I'm able to access the shared resources. The problem I've run into is that if I restart my Win2012 VM, my mapped coections break. I run into "The useame or password is incorrect" error. I have a wireless printer that coects to my wifi router. There is a function in the printer that allow me to lock the printer temporarily so no one can print/scan... and unlock it. The problem is the wifi network is being shared with other people and I don't want them to access printer and print out everything. My question is how can I prevent others from accessing printer. I'm using Kubuntu and I have just upgraded from KDE 5.5.5 to 5.6.5. However, after the upgrade, Kmail asks for the Kwallet password after every reboot. I have tried to re-coect Kmail via Kwallet Manger or reset Kwallet by removing ~/.local/share/kwalletd and ~/.kde/share/apps/kwallet but they didn't work. How can I get rid of the prompt? In my previous question, I tried to block certain websites using the hosts file. Now as I am the administrator of the system, I waa limit the ability to write on hosts with a password.I have read this question. But I don't like 3rd party softwares, because I think you can always sneak out by uninstalling the software.As you see in the following photo, I have checked deny for the write access to the file.I want to be able to alter deny to allow just by entering a specific password that is different from the windows password which is used to log in. W10 64bit laptop. IT at work was troubleshooting an email issue and decided to delete all my credentials (useames/passwords). It did fix the email domain issue - laptop user account is not part of any domain. When I get home, use computer for a couple hours, blue screens on me - ran out of memory... Reboots. I recently cleared my TPM (Dell e7240, Windows 10). During the process, at no point did Bios or Windows ask for a new TPM password. (And at no point since I bought this laptop did I ever set a TPM password, to the best of my knowledge.) I have tried clearing both via Windows (with TPM.MSC) and via Bios, and with neither method was I asked for a new password. TPM.MSC reports that the TPM is "ready for use", but if I click "change owner password", it asks for the old password, despite me having just cleared the TPM. Windows 8.1 2 in 1 Tablet tied to unused Hotmail account whose password is forgotten? I have some old family folks who did not realize they created this, then they lent the machine to another old family member and now nobody remembers this password and this Outlook/ Hotmail account was never used by them. Apparently it was created by them when they went through the OOBE fresh machine process scenario. I am doing some major tech house cleaning for them. I doubt if we can do a reset via MS/ Hotmail and get a new password as we do not really have access to the Hotmail account as it was never used by anyone. I have set up 2 users both as administrators. It is a home computer and we do not require password protection. I am the normal user and have managed to set up so that I login without having to enter password . However whenever my family switches to his user the login screen forces him to write his a password, and when i switch back from his session to mine Im forced to put my password again. I don't recall an account being locked when the user forgot to change the password before the deadline (I know this happens a lot in hardened Linux servers though). In case you it really did happen, assuming you have domain administrator access, you can: Login your domain controller as domain admin Open up "Active Directory Users and Computers" Go to "Users" Find the user account, right click and open "Properties" Browse to the "Accounts" tab and tick "Unlock account" This should unlock the account and when the user tries to login again (via console or Remote Desktop), Windows should prompt a password change. I have a MySQL database that was created from data output by another application. On of the columns is for an email address, however the data in this column is all duplicates. For example, the "email" for a single record looks like this "[email protected],[email protected]". I would like the field to contain the address just once. Is there a way through a MySQL command, to remove anything from the , onward? I know I can write a PHP script to loop through all the data, but i was hoping there was a simpler way through MySQL.
