I just bought a Microsoft Wireless Display adapter and my Windows 10 machine is claiming that my device doesn't support Miracast. Using the guide here, I confirmed that I have NdisVersion 6.4 on my Wifi card and that my display driver has WDDM 2.0. My hardware: Nvidia GTX 770M ruing the latest stable driver Intel i7 4710MQ @ 2.5GHz Intel Duel Band AC 7260 updated to the latest driver As far as I'm aware, this is all that's required to use Miracast, yet when I go to the action center and select "coect", Windows tells me that "Your device doesn't support Miracast, so it can't be project wirelessly". I'm having a very weird problem regarding my wireless router. I bought it a month ago (it's a TPLink, model TD-W8960N) and everything was going fine, until today, weh I got home, I coected my phone to it and after a while I noticed it was literally blocking my mac from coecting to any page. At first I thought of an IP conflict problem, but my router is solving IPs properly (phone is like 1.101 and mac is 1.103, and there's a chromecast coected as well). I'm reimaging an HP ProDesk 600 G2 SFF for work, and everything works except the USB 3 ports on the back, and all of the front-facing USB ports. The only ports that consistently work are the USB 2.0 ports that HP indicates are meant for keyboard/mouse. I've tried the following, to no avail: Reinstalling Windows 7 from the factory supplied reinstall media (not from our organizations Win 7 image) and reinstalling the drivers. I have 3 physical USB drives. A) Flash drive B) Physical exteal drive (self powered) C) Physical exteal drive (wall powered) All but one of the partitions on these drives exhibits the yellow exclamation: This device is not working properly because Windows caot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) Object Name not found. The only partition that doesn't exhibit the error is the only logical partition - all others are primary partitions. The drives are available fine to windows explorer and background services (such as the backup software) They all show up as HEALTHY in Disk Management. Situation : This is machine setup in vmware environment in data center, So i can not put bootable disk. Have two option : 1: resizing same dev/sda1 partition which seems impossible. In order to get my Asus touchscreen working after hibeate, I have to disable and re-enable the HID driver in Device Manager. Now I want to script this behavior but it doesn't work: devcon disable ATML1000 devcon enable ATML1000 After doing one of these two commands from devcon the new state is reflected in Dev Mgr. However, when I disable and enable in Dev Mgr the proper drivers are loaded on re-enabling. If I use devcon to disable the device and then Dev Mgr to re-enable it also will not load proper drivers. I have a Banana Pi I'm trying to use for a Guest WiFi network; What I'm trying to achieve: Pi forwards traffic eth0wlan0 Desktop can't contact Guest1, and the other way around. Guest1 can't contact Pi on either IP, other than forwarding traffic through it. Goal Sync ALL information for my e-mail and calendar across ALL my devices and have any of them update the rest if I change/add/delete something. Ex. If I am on my Laptop and I plan out my week/month and appointments, I want to be able to see them on my tablet and phone. Conversely, if I am on my phone and an appointment is coming up, I get a notification/reminder of my appointment on ALL devices. I'm trying to write a batch file on Windows 10 that allows me to switch between my headset and my speakers as default audio device when I run it. I don't want to use any third-party software. We're using Jenkins to test our software on both Windows and Linux. Our Jenkins server (which doesn't have any data drives mounted) starts a Jenkins slave Job on one of our Windows machine which then needs to get data from a network drive that needs to be mounted with different user credentials. So I need something like net use \servershare /u:useame PASSWORD copy data The problem is I don't want to write PASSWORD in my Jenkins execution script. My new department email server is stuck on Exchange 2003 and due to moving between departments, I'm ruing Outlook 2013. Outlook 2013 simply refuses to coect to Exchange 2003, meaning I'm not able to use the corporate address book, nor the public calendars for booking meeting rooms. If at all possible, I'd like to avoid having to downgrade from Office 2013 to Office 2010. If I was able to book rooms through the shared calendars, that would solve 99% of my problem, so this is where I'm focussing. A friend of mine has (had) a touchscreen laptop. While carrying it, they hit the screen and the glass cracked. The damage is hardly noticeable when looking at the monitor, but unfortunately it is also causing constant touch screen input in random areas of the screen (all the time, there are tens or hundreds of such "clicks" per second). I've disabled it in Windows Device Manager, but I'm wondering: is the device still active and generating interrupts to the CPU which are then simply discarded by the OS? I am writing an IP scaer in C#... I'm not looking for coding help, but rather the how do I determine the device type. Using WMI and remote registry I am able to get all information I want from desktops and servers. I can also get the device MAC address and vendor but type is stumping me. By type I mean simply "Printer" or "Desktop" I tried using nmap on a printer and desktop like so: nmap -O ip_address but it retus device type "general purpose|phone" on all of them. I was able to use this to correctly identify the smart switches, though. All I want it to retu is something like "Printer" or "Desktop".. Is there a reliable way to do so using any means? Long story short, I have a problem with my keyboard discoecting briefly every few minutes, and have tried every fix I have found to no avail. As such the next logical step is to try find out what exactly is causing it, and so I need to find a way to view information about it discoecting. On the off chance anyone has any additional ideas as to what could be the cause, fixes I have tried: Modifying power plan settings. Disabling computer's ability to disable keyboard to save power in settings. Setting PnPCapabilities in the driver key to 0 with Registry editor.
