Edit: When removing apps using Method 2, the apps may still show up in search but will close immediately when opened. To make them not show up, use Method 1 AFTER Method 2. Method 1 - Remove for Existing Users using Administrative PowerShell This method uses the PowerShell included in Windows 10 Pro to remove UWP apps, also known as Appx Packages, from pre-existing users on a computer. First, run PowerShell as Administrator by searching for it in start and right clicking > Run as administrator. Next, get a list of installed packages. To do this, we could type Get-AppxPackage and read the million things that come up. Instead we will pipe it to the select command that only output's the package...

However our firewall reports a "massive" Storm of NTP-Requests (from iPhones, iPads) trying to contact some server on the inteet. (it's blocked) With 8 Devices on the network, it's like 1000 attempts per minute - why doesn't the iDevices take the inteal NTP delivered through the DHCP-Scope configuration? Is this something we could change by configuration, or do the apple-things have hardcoded NTP-Servers? Let's block ads! بخوانید...

ادامه مطلبI shared a folder between my Win7 host machine and virtual Ubuntu, and am trying to build a small project in the virtual machine. When it complains that its missing some files, I copy those files over from another folder on the host machine. However, those files appear as invalid files in the virtual box - if I try to ls, it outputs something like this: ls: caot access types.h: No such file or directory ... -????????? ? ? ? ? ? types.h However, if I copy other files, they appear normally. It appears that g++ trying to access the file before it is created messes something up and I can no longer copy that file without restarting the virtual machine, which gets pretty time consuming if I have t...

You can type message using the website, but they are sent to your phone, and your phone then sends them to the other contact. So using WhatsApp for Web is basically the same as when you use it on your phone, except that its more convenient because you do not have to keep looking at your phone, and typing is a lot easier. That being said, WhatsApp uses the inteet to send and receive messages, not SMS text messages. How you have your phone coected to the inteet will determine how the WhatsApp messages are being sent. If your phone is coected to your local WiFi spot, and as such, you don...
ادامه مطلبI am using Tesseract as a means to convert printed text documents captured by my cell phone camera into text. The results are not great. The quality of the image is very good, far clearer than a fax, but it seems to have a very difficult time identifying characters. I've also tried mimicking one of these documents in a text editor, taking a screenshot of the window, and ruing that through Tesseract and the results are only marginally better. This leads me to believe there's probably an optimal font for Tesseract. I Googled a bit and came across OCR-A, but it apparently requires a license. I then stumbled upon am free OCR-A alteative on SourceFourge, but it doesn't appear to fare much better ...

ادامه مطلبMac OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 Sometimes I open up multiple windows of TextEdit and multiple tabs on Chrome and use the Cmd-f to find certain text. In each window, I'm looking for different texts. However, when I switch between the windows, the search text automatically transfers itself to the next window, and I lose my previous search results. How do I make Cmd-f search text local to the application window, and not transfer itself when I switch between windows? For example: In Chrome - tab 1, I searched chickens. 300 results show up. I scrolled to the 150th. In Chrome - tab 2, I searched eggs When I switch back to tab 1, the search text automatically switches from chickens to eggs! I have to e...

ادامه مطلبIs it some kind of encapsulation when by some tutorials I am suggested creating separate unix user. E.g. in tomcat installation instructions it said: 1 - Create a Low Privilege User Ruing Tomcat as root introduces the uecessary risk that a compromised Tomcat instance could yield control over your entire server. Thus, creating a user with low privileges to run Tomcat should be standard practice when installing new instances. Question: Is it single reason? What about installation under my sudoer user, not root. What about different installation managers like Linuxbrew, how do they solve this problem? Let's block ads! بخوانید...
ادامه مطلبBasically I'm wondering if a principle like cache locality, i.e. it's advantegous to access consecutive pieces of memory because usually bigger chunks of that memory are loaded into cache, also matters at the application level. In practice - let's assume applications which don't require much extra allocations once started - I wonder if there is an advantage in starting application A and waiting a while, and then starting application B versus starting application A and B simultaneously. For the latter case I could imagine A requesting some memory, then B, then A again and so on (though I'm not sure it happens like that but on the other hand the OS caot know on beforehand how much memory is go...

ادامه مطلبThe answer is "It depends". If you are going to unencrypted sites, it is possible for anyone in the middle - including whoever it is that controls your WIFI coection - to see the traffic going in both directions. They can see pretty much anything set "unencrypted" In the "normal case" of going to secure (https) sites, the WIFI administrator would not be able to see exactly what you are doing. They would be able to get a sense of it from hints - including DNS queries - which would give an indication of which services you were using - but they would not be able to see the actual content (ie what images or videos you were looking at). They could get some vague idea what you were doing by lookin...
