Ok, I already read how to swap fn / ctrl in bios. I enter bios, then go to Keyboard / Mouse, then Enabled Fn and Ctrl Key swap and also enabled fn key as primary function. Success. Now I can easily do f1-f12 without use fn key, that's good, can use ctrl f3 (or fn f3 actually because already swapped) example to increase sound. I have Fedora 24 installed using Hyper-V on top of Windows 10 (aiversary update) Trying to get the Hyper-V vGPU working, but Fedora does not recognizing it, and it doesn't even recognizing the video device if i don't have the vGPU enabled. Anyway to get some video acceleration or even just fullscreen working on this setup or should i look at different Hyper-visors? Side Question: Would i be better off testing this with Server 2016 - Which has pass through? I'm an L2 helpdesk guy and I have a user whose Lenovo L440 will not coect to wifi. The wifi icon in the notification area shows a red X and the "tu wireless on" button is greyed out in the Mobility Center. When she presses F8, it shows that wifi is on. The adapter is enabled and "allow to tu off to save power" is unchecked. We've reinstalled Pro/Set Wireless, and tried to install the adapter driver from the Device Manager. When I uninstalled the device there, checking the "remove driver" checkbox, it did not find the driver in Windows Update and I had to install Pro/Set Wireless from the Intel website. I'm plaing to put together a 4k pc gaming rig, in research stage. I'm really confused with the graphic cards. I was thinking of getting Asus GTX 980ti oc. Then I started researching Asus GTX 1070 oc. I'm confused because the 1070 in Canada is over $200 cheaper. I would have thought since the 980ti was released first it would be cheaper. What am I missing? I have a pair of earbuds with a microphone that I would like to record with instead of the terrible inbuilt one. Unfortunately, when I plug it in it still uses the inbuilt one. The icon next to the jack indicates that it is speaker and microphone, and the end of my audio jack does have four rings. The microphone works fine on my Android phone, so I know it isn't the earbuds' fault. I remember when I first plugged them, there was a dialogue menu that asked what I wanted to coect it as, and I selected sound and tried to select microphone, but it only let me use one so I selected sound and told it not to ask again. Info: I'm using acer aspire 5733 (windows 8). I recently bought a new battery online that has a capacity of 112 Wh (which is double the original 48 Wh AS10D31 battery that the laptop came with). It came with the same voltage as the original one which is 10.8 V. Charger supplies 19 V 3.42 A 65W. Problem: I caot charge the new battery past 43% even after two days of charging. I tried to calibrate the battery by draining it all the way and uninstalling Microsoft ACPI compliant control but all attempts were to no avail. Any suggestions/advice. Thanks! Sometimes my mouse accidentally moves too low, and gets over the taskbar while I am trying to scroll, which results in the active window being replaced by the next one, i.e. the next window pops up and covers my focal one. Note, that I'm not talking about scrolling among icons in a crowded taskbar that only show a fraction of windows (as can be seen in this image), neither about this issue, but about the fact that when I move my mouse wheel while being over the taskbar the next window will pop up without me clicking on its taskbar icon. As you all are facing, I am facing the beta graphics driver-secure boot problem after windows 10 aiversary update, seems like microsoft hates non-WHQL drivers and I can't properly install beta drivers in windows 10 anymore. So I need to disable secure boot. But I can not disable secure boot from BIOS, the option is grayed out in BIOS. I even tried Windows->Settings Menu-> Update->Advance Startup->Troubleshoot->Restart-> UEFI FIRMWARE SETTINGS. The option is still grayed out. So I wonder how I can disable secure boot. I am using a self-generated certificate for my mail server to which I coect through SSL/TLS. Due to the self-generated certificate which I have not added to the Windows certificate store, Thunderbird asks me to add an exception for this certificate in order to use it. So far, things went fine for years. Today, Thunderbird presented me a dialog to add an exception for my email certificate. Of course I was surprised and looked into the certificate details. Typically I'm using MikroTik embeded routers, they're basing on Linux so their firewall settings feel pretty much 1:1 the same as iptables, just commands are a bit different but mechanics the same. Some more advance MTK firewall functionality with raw iptables can be achieved using -m extensions - like coection states or comments for example. I can't find disable option in raw iptables. Is there any iptables extension that allows to temporarily disable iptables rules? By temporarily I mean disabling rule without actually removing it from table so that it's still visible in iptables -L but not functional. I reformatted my laptop and installed the drivers given by the acer support, driver and manual site. and noticed my speakers aren't working.
