Gtx 980 or gtx 1070 for 4k gaming pc?

I'm planning to put together a 4k pc gaming rig, in research stage.

I'm really confused with the graphic cards.

I was thinking of getting Asus GTX 980ti oc. Then I started researching Asus GTX 1070 oc.

I'm confused because the 1070 in Canada is over $200 cheaper. I would have thought since the 980ti was released first it would be cheaper. What am I missing?

Could someone please shed some light on what the 980ti offers that the 1070 is missing?

Which do you think it is better for 4k gaming?
