  • Having trouble communicating to a FT232R device

  • نیلوبلاگ

I have a FT232R device controlled by a VXM Stepping Motor Controller. I was able to communicate with the device on Mac(using Matlab). But I'm having trouble doing it on Windows. I installed the VCP driver for Windows 64-bit from here: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm I already checked that the driver is properly installed. Here is my code: #include <windows.h> #include <setupapi.h> #include <stdio.h> int main() { char command[34] = "I2M10,R"; HANDLE hSerial = CreateFile( "\\.\COM8", FILE_SHARE_READ | FILE_SHARE_WRITE, 0, NULL,//pass path as a parameter instead of \\.\COM6 OPEN_EXISTING, FILE_ATTRIBUTE_NORMAL, NULL); ...

  • USB Device that will allow Hardware level KVM access to another server (USB or PS/2)

  • نیلوبلاگ

First - yes I support old stuff... not blades and the like, Racks of 2 and 4U servers, up to 16 of them in a set. A hardware IP KVM solution in new deployments answers all of my issues, my gap currently is that I want to equip each location I support with a low cost Dongle they can coect to any troubled server (say they blow up the BIOS settings and need help or the RAID controller needs configured or maybe a server is blue screening and we need to capture the stop data after windows crashes remotely). Hardware standalone IP-KVM dongles exist and work adequately yet always need an IP configured. I am seeking a device that I could plug into any nearby working server via USB, and it coect to t...

  • Hori V3 Fighting Stick is recognized as libusbK USB Device and does not work

  • نیلوبلاگ

I had a desktop computer before and this fighting stick of mine was working pretty well. Before I got it to work, it was not recognized by the operating system (Windows 10). Now, I bought a new laptop and the controller is perfectly recognized but does not work at all. I have tried advices from steam forum but these advices are only for those who could not get their controllers to be recognized. What I literally want to do is to make my controller recognized as a game controller. But it is recognized as an usb device. When I try to change the driver, I have two options, and both of them does not work for me. What shall I do to make my computer recognize my fighting stick as a game controller...

  • Share source code on multiple devices

  • نیلوبلاگ

In my free time I like to program small to medium programs in C++. I am using an Ubuntu VM and QtCreator as IDE. Until yesterday I only programmed on my local home-PC. Now, I bought myself a laptop. I am looking for a way to synchronize the source code between my Home-PC and my laptop. That means that if I change the source-code on my Home-PC and then boot up my laptop, I have the same source-code on both machines and vice versa. I know very little about version control systems like git. I think that could be a solution to my problem. But maybe there is an easier way to achieve the source-code synchronization. • Too many devices on wireless network

  • نیلوبلاگ

So, there's way too many devices on my wireless network, which I normally use to play games on. Usually, there's about 3 or 4 devices coected on wifi, not counting my computer, which is on wired coection. Right now, there's a few relatives living with us, and the smartphone count has gone up to 10-12. I have a network bandwidth fluctuating between 12-17 mbps throughout the day. I'd like to limit how much of that devices other than my computer have access to. QoS is not an option. I have full access to my router. One other question, regarding wireless protocols: The network's usually setup at 802.11g, which has a bandwidth cap more than triple my peak speeds. Would setting it to 802.11b solve...

  • How can I change all the device IDs on my quad port Intel NIC?

  • نیلوبلاگ

Thanks So I have a quadport Intel gigabite NIC (dual 82571EB). To get the device IDs, I used: lspci - -vvv | grep Etheet all the 4 devices were identified as 8086:10bc. I want to change 10bc to 105e for all 4 devices. ifconfig shows all 4 devices as: enp3s0f0 enp3s0f1 enp4s0f0 enp4s0f1 To find the correct offset, I used this command: # ethtool -e my-interface-here | grep 86 0x0010 87 d9 05 71 2f 24 4b 70 3c 10 bc 10 86 80 65 b3 Ruing the command above for all 4 interfaces gave me the same result. I made a backup of the EEPROM for all interfaces using: ethtool -e my-interface-here raw on > my-interface-here.bin To actually make the change, I used this command: ethtool -E enp3...

  • Are there any personal developer push notification APIs?

  • نیلوبلاگ

I'd like to be able to run a curl command on my local machine or on my server, and have a push notification be sent to my cell phone. I can already get the same effect with a text messaging service, but I was wondering what push notification services are available. Basically I want an alert on my phone when events happen, for my own personal use, and was wondering what's the best way to do that. Let's block ads! بخوانید...

  • Set new audio device default for volume mixer in Windows 10

I use two audio devices: Default (audio) device "Realtec Digital Output (Optical)" Default communication device "Lautsprecher (Speaker)" My goal: I want to have the default audio volume on my default communication device, instead of the default device - at all times. What I tried so far: Changing the volume mixer to my communication device explicitly works temporary, but as soon as I close the settings window, the default audio volume is reset again to the default audio device. Step 1: Clicking on volume shows me the default device: Step 2: Changing the volume mixer to my communication device manually: Step 3: Clicking again on volume does not keep the change :( How can I make it permane...

  • how to fix windows 10 x64 post sysprep error 0xc0000001 inaccessible boot device

  • نیلوبلاگ

I have successfully sysprep'ed hundred of times in the past with previous versions of windows. I have many HP Z400 with 8gb of RAM, and they are all identical. The only difference is the source system has 1 hard drive and destination has 2. I made the image, backed it up, and used sysprep. Captured and deployed the image. Issue 1. All 25 computers get 0xc0000001 inaccessible boot device. I checked the boot order although that was never changed, it was correct. I discoected the 2nd hard drive and they get past that error. The 2nd hard drive is a non bootable GPT 3tb hard drive just for storage. The hardware does not support bootable GPT or UEFI. After unplugged 2nd, it gets to sysprep, and a...

  • PC requires me to choose boot device to load Windows 10

  • نیلوبلاگ

Issue been driving me nuts for a while now. I'm not sure when exactly this started but I believe it first started when I upgraded to Windows 10 rc a few years ago. If I start my PC it eventually stops with a bios /bootup message "Reboot & Select Proper Boot Device or insert boot media in selected boot device." I have two hard drives in my pc. To boot into windows, during boot I press F12 to get the boot menu to pop-up where I can then select the device (p1 - WDC) and it boots fine. Some info ---> Looking in Windows under Disk Management: 1. Harddrive - ST325 Disk 0: two partitions. • How can every single device on a network have a different public IP?

  • نیلوبلاگ

It is impossible for a computer to have the same public and private IP address. It is either a private IP, which is in the range 192.168.xxx.xxx, 172.16.xxx.xxx, or 10.xxx.xxx.xxx, or a public IP, which is any other address. It is possible for every computer to have a different public IP address. It simply means that whatever establishment you were at purchased the right to multiple IP addresses and their routers are configured to give one to each computer. You could probably even do this at home if you wanted to. Assuming what you said about every computer having the same public and private addresses is correct, my guess is that every computer has only a public address. All the establishmen...
