Too many devices on wireless network

So, there's way too many devices on my wireless network, which I normally use to play games on. Usually, there's about 3 or 4 devices connected on wifi, not counting my computer, which is on wired connection. Right now, there's a few relatives living with us, and the smartphone count has gone up to 10-12. I have a network bandwidth fluctuating between 12-17 mbps throughout the day. I'd like to limit how much of that devices other than my computer have access to. QoS is not an option. I have full access to my router.

One other question, regarding wireless protocols: The network's usually setup at 802.11g, which has a bandwidth cap more than triple my peak speeds. Would setting it to 802.11b solve my problem? I know it's supposed to have a 11mbps cap, but my question is: is that per device, or a total cap on wifi? If so, my computer should have exclusive access to anything above 11mbps, seeing as it's the only wired device on the network, right? I can deal with only playing games during peak speed hours, and 5mbps is actually more than I have at my place, which I find fine to game on. Is there maybe an alteative way to give my computer priority?
