I created a boot image of RHEL 7.2 and configured BIOS to boot from USB. The USB boot image is recognized. I am asked to Install or check hash. • Laptop battery worn 9% in two months, is it normal?

  • نیلوبلاگ

I just got a new laptop which is just 2 months old ruing Windows 10. Today when I checked the battery life the battery has wo down 9% which is like 4.5% per month, in this rate my battery would only last close to two years or less. What's the average wear rate of the laptop battery? I use the laptop plugged in most of the time how ever let it drain (not completely) and charge it back once in a week. So a 9% drop is like 50 charging cycles which it definitely didn't had. So this much of wearing is normal or too much? average wear rate of the laptop battery? Of course this is assuming that the battery was 100% by the time I bought it, being a brand new laptop I assume that it should be close t...

  • Dell Laptop Powering On When Lid Is Opened

  • نیلوبلاگ

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop with factory-installed Windows 8, upgraded to Windows 8.1, and later to Windows 10. Since I have purchased a new computer, I decided to perform a factory reset on the laptop (using the Remove files and clean the drive option) in order to repurpose it. It reset flawlessly on the first try in about 5-6 hours, and runs perfectly now, but with only one issue introduced after the reset that wasn't present before: the laptop now powers itself on from a shut-down state upon opening the lid, as opposed to opening the lid and then pressing the power button (this occurs on both battery and power). To add on to that, there was even an instance where the lid was already ...

I have a junker laptop that I want to run Linux on and just SSH into. I believe that the BGA of the videocard has some damage, do I really need to reflow this sucker before using it, or is it safe to install Linux on it, ssh in, and just keep the lid down so the monitor stays off? • Acer Aspire 5733 New Battery only charges up to 43%

  • نیلوبلاگ

Info: I'm using acer aspire 5733 (windows 8). I recently bought a new battery online that has a capacity of 112 Wh (which is double the original 48 Wh AS10D31 battery that the laptop came with). It came with the same voltage as the original one which is 10.8 V. Charger supplies 19 V 3.42 A 65W. Problem: I caot charge the new battery past 43% even after two days of charging. I tried to calibrate the battery by draining it all the way and uninstalling Microsoft ACPI compliant control but all attempts were to no avail. Any suggestions/advice. Thanks! • Can I enable touchscreen gestures for Google Inbox on a Windows 10 tablet/laptop?

  • نیلوبلاگ

On my iPhone, there is an app for Google Inbox, where I can swipe messages left or right to archive them or snooze them. Is there a way to get the web version to do the same thing on a touchscreen computer? If it helps, I'm currently using Google Chrome on a Microsoft Surface Pro 4, but I expect that this would be applicable to any touchscreen laptop / tablet ruing Windows 10. • Cpu vs Gpu for programming laptop [on hold]

  • نیلوبلاگ

It depends. It completely depends on what you're programming. If you are programming apps or need to use programming tools that require higher resource usage then I'd go with #1 and even go up to 16 GB ram. BUT, in general, both are perfectly fine. You can even get a laptop with lower spec and it should be fine. Again, it depends. Oh, and GPU only matter if you are programming graphics related software. I mean, do you need good graphics card to develop a servlet? No. Let's block ads! بخوانید...

  • Letter g keeps "sticking" on laptop, even though the keyboard is disconnected

  • نیلوبلاگ

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series laptop, and, at first, the letter g stopped working... Taking it off and cleaning it didn't work... No big deal, I just ordered a new keyboard. Then the g key started sticking sometimes, typing gggggggg anywhere there was a cursor, and trying to select icons starting with g. After a bit longer, it was sticking all the time. It got to where I couldn't even sign in. I can't type my password. It just starts typing endless g's without stopping. (This all happened within about 15 minutes) Here's the crazy part. I discoected the keyboard, and started it up. It's STILL TYPING g's! How could it possibly be typing without a keyboard!!!!!??? I tried coecting a USB...

  • Laptop keyboard keys are pressed automatically

I know that's being asked but I can't find a solution for my problem. I have old Asus EeePc notebook with windows XP Home SP3 x86 From time to time (few seconds up to few minutes) it acts like the right arrow key is being held down, and stops that behavior when left or up arrows or backspace is pressed, but sometimes starts again when down or right arrow is pressed, while right arrow is not functioning at all most of the time. Also no '#' sign, though other like '$' '%' e.g. work perfectly fine. Bad explanation but I think you get the point. How to find out if it's a software problem or not? I have tried to update the keyboard driver and uninstall the keyboard with no success (shows the keyb...

  • Prolong Laptop's Battery Life

  • نیلوبلاگ

I have downloaded, for my Lenovo laptop, a power management utility by Lenovo with an option to 'extend battery life.' Essentially, the software works by maxing out the battery's charge at 60%. Moreover, it limits recharging the battery until the charge drops to 55% or so (meaning one could conceivably use the laptop plugged in for weeks without it constantly being charged - until the charge on the battery naturally drops to 55%, that is). Any ideas as to whether this might prove to be effective with respect to promoting battery life, recharge cycles? What are some measures I can take to prolong the life of my laptop and it's battery throughout my time in university? Is it the battery I shou...

  • Will a broken screen harm my laptop?

My laptop fell on the ground and its screen cracked. Everything works perfectly except of course the broken screen. I ordered a new one already. My conce is that, because of these large dark areas, it may harm the powering system somehow... may cause some power leakage of some kind, or affect the screen cable or the screen socket. My question is that if I continue working with my laptop for a few days, will it harm my laptop in anyway? Let's block ads! بخوانید...

  • Thinkpad X230t Laptop External Monitor - Wrong Alignment

  • نیلوبلاگ

When I plug in an exteal monitor into my Thinkpad X230 Tablet PC with a VGA port, and extend the display to that monitor, the monitor's display is shifted 3 inches to the right. There is a large black gap on the left side of the monitor. The monitor has a setting to manually adjust the display position, but only shifts about an inch at its max. The gap is much larger than that. Ruing Windows 10, latest updates. I tried updating the Intel graphics drivers recently released on Lenovo's website, but no help. Tried changing the resolution on that monitor, all had same exact gap on the left side. Has anyone seen an issue like this? Let's block ads! بخوانید...
