In my Windows 10 computer, I have a VirtualBox Ubuntu 16.04 LTS VM in bridge adapter network setting. I have been able to use the hostname of the VM to SSH, Samba, and browse webpages inside the VM. Also, the Windows 10 computer has Cisco AnyCoect Secure Mobility Client installed, so that I can remotely access my company's LAN. Like, remote desktop into the office computer, accessing file server, etc. Recently, the IT department has told us to update the VPN client. After that, I have found the computer unable to resolve the hostname of the VM when the VPN is coected. When the VPN is discoected, the hostname can be resolved again. The updated version of the Cisco client is Version 4.2.03013....

I just bought a new Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 14, and Office 2016 which includes Outlook 2016. I've have to different email accounts added. When I click on one or the other, a page flashes (see the attached pic). I hope you can see the picture through the link. I appreciate any input. I installed tincvpn on my Windows XP (SP3) and followed this tutorial to configure. So after I finished the configuration(i.e., creating tinc.conf and generating rsa key and creating hosts directory). I installed tincvpn to my office computer and did the configuration again. By following the tutorial, I copied the directory of VPN/hosts/home and pasted into VPN/hosts/ in my office computer. And I copied the hosts/office files from my office computer to hosts directory in my home computer. My office uses broadband Inteet coection. I have dialup inteet coection. I have set up all the necessary configurations to set up a static host besides localhost (default) on Ubuntu, but I can ping the host I set with the /etc/host file but I cant use nslookup or the host command to resolve it. I am trying to understand how WiFi Range extenders work at setup level. I am going thru the specifications and user manuals available on manufacturer websites and it’s adding to my confusion. I have DHCP IP reservation (against MAC ID) setup in my DIR 615 main router and you can not repeat IP address. Now I understand that extender translates client’s MAC ID to a Virtual MAC that host router shall see. I want to seamlessly carry say my laptop anywhere in the house with IP reservation & MAC filtering on. I can add both MAC ids to the list but I can not have same IP for two MAC ids. I'm using syslog-ng for a big amount of servers. To get everything more in shape in the folder structure, I use several filters with regex and multiple destination and log lines in the syslog-ng.conf What I would like to accomplish is to let syslog decide where to put the log file based on parts of the hostname and put it in 1 filter, with 1 destination and log line. I have installed Windows 7 on Virtual box. I have installed virtual box guest additions. My host OS is Ubuntu 16.04 My Windows is ruing extremely slow. It is often hanging so much that poweroff is the only option. The .Net Framework 4.5 took forever to install. My anti virus programs are simply refusing to install. ACPI is tued off by default on my freshly installed Ubuntu 16.04 and it seems because of that only one CPU core is detected, resulting in a lot of performance issues. Tuing ACPI on grub makes the OS unbootable. Ubuntu would get stuck on a page with no relevant error. I searched around and it doesn't seem to be a common problem. I have a Dell Inspiron One 2320 pc with Ubuntu 16.04 and Windows 10 in dualboot. When i boot into Windows, everything works smooth. In Linux, xserver-xorg-video-nouveau driver is less tearing, but it is very slow. All nvidia binary drivers, even from PPA drive me crazy with their tearing, but they are really fast. Please help me! I have created an Ubuntu instance at AWS, and afterwards installed the GUI module LXDE - and it all works fine. But when i try to copy and paste it doesn't work from Windows(10) to Ubuntu (latest version at AWS) with LXDE (GUI) module installed over RDP... after i copied a file in windows... and i go to the menu in LXDE it says "Paste" - But nothing really happens when i use it, nor does the key CTRL+V work...? Preamble: I have a Dell Windows laptop with a Killer Wireless card. I made a partition and installed Ubuntu because I am used to Unix-style development environments (Windows is for light browsing, gaming, entertainment, etc). It seems that Ubuntu does not recognize my wireless card. It does not show up with $ ifconfig. I've got 2 IP addresses for my machine, examples: x.x.x.1 x.x.x.2 My current server address is x.x.x.1 and the server is ruing service A, B & C. I would like to provide service A & B on x.x.x.1 and..I would like to provide service C on x.x.x.2 It should not be possible to reach services assigned to another IP address (i.e. reaching service C on x.x.x.1 should not be possible).
