How does ssh choose the correct key to use?

How does ssh-agent understand which key should it use for which remote server? I've came across different questions and posts that touches this topic somehow, but it still remain unclear to me. What I have found is that if you want to use different ssh keys you need to use -i option and specify path to needed key or you can setup Identity files that specifies which key pair for which host to use. But does it mean that by default ssh-agent can use only one key pair and it will try to use it for all remote servers? Let's block ads! بخوانید...

How does TeamViewer unattended remote access work?

TeamViewer says its unattended Remote Access works with no configuration required. How does this work? How does a coection initiated by a "client" computer locate the "host" computer? I have no experience with TeamViewer and am evaluating it because a customer wants to use it. (I am familiar with using Windows RDP on computers located in enterprise networks, as well as remote hosts located behind firewalls in networks with frequently changing public IP addresses for their Inteet coections.) Mac mini G4 doesn't show login window

Please help. There's use for my old Mac mini, so I fired it up, after it's been unused for some years. After booting it shows the (fake) progress bar and that's it. No logon screen. I can coect to it by ssh, so that part is ok and I can have a look at the log files! How does a switch's MAC layer behave when both nodes are at different speed and duplex

I have a network which is coected like this : PC1 | | (auto neg) | Switch1 | | (10 Mbps Half) | Switch2 | | (auto neg) | PC2 then everything works fine. Now I just want to know how does switches pass on the traffic when 2 nodes are at different speed (like here, PC node at 1Gbps, another switch's node at 10 Mbps Half). There must be two MACs involved in the switch both ruing at different speeds. So how does it work ? Let's block ads! بخوانید...

puppet: `puppet resource ` does not show defined type

I created a test.pp file and put in it a defined type that basically creates a file at /tmp/asdf. I ran puppet apply test.pp and verified that the file got created. However, when I go to puppet resource -t, I don't see that type listed, and I also don't see it when I try: puppet resource hello_define Error: Could not run: Could not find type hello_define I loosely followed this guide: https://soivi.net/2013/define-types-example-in-puppet/ Let's block ads! بخوانید...

How does Access determine filepaths?

In access when the serverpath is declared and a filepath is listed, if there are two separate symbolic paths how does access choose which path is valid and which is invalid? I have a split accdb and my back end is hosted on a shared folder. Someone in the IT department created a bunch of shortcuts to the shared folder hosing my back end and there are now two different symbolic paths to the back end. Access does recognize symbolic paths as server paths, but how does it choose? The front end will link to the back end using one path but not the other, so how does access make that decision? How to ensure, that firewall does not pass any external packets into LAN?

Am I correct thinking, that in the case of NAT and correct firewall config, one should see no any packages with "source address" equals to global IP inside the LAN? Or NAT server will keep source address while translating? I am observing multiple packages inside LAN from "source address" pointing to global IPs. Does this mean firewall is setup incorrectly? Non-hidden directory doesn't show in Explorer, but exists...in some sense(?)

I'm using IMAPSize to backup my mailboxes. The process just dumps the contents of your mailbox into .eml files on your disk. Anyway, the first mailbox I backed up shows up as I expect. However, the next one doesn't show in Explorer and, if I enter it in the path, it tells me that it doesn't exist. However, IMAPSize is insisting that the files are there. (A lot of disk writing was being performed during the operation.) Moreover, the directory does appear in the Windows directory dialog and -- as I have GNU tools installed -- it shows in ls (but not in native dir). I can't cd into the directory, but ls does seem to be able to access it (and, indeed, the directories and files I expect appear to...

How does port-forwarding help in torrents?

I use Transmission to download files but it says that a certain port is required to be opened. However, while this port is closed I noticed that I can still download files with no problem. But when I opened the port via my router I can see a significant difference in the download speed. I know the basics of port-forwarding and that it forwards the traffic to a certain device on a certain port. So I was thinking that my downloads would not proceed since the port was closed but it didn't. So my question is: How does port forwarding help in this situation? Why do my downloads speed up when port-forwarding is enabled? Let's block ads! بخوانید...

Why does Outlook show a different datetime value for a file than Explorer does?

While inserting a file (ReportRuer.exx) in an Outlook email, I noticed that the datetime it displayed for a file I had just updated was outdated. In Explorer, it shows the correct datetime (Outlook dialog on top, Explorer on the bottom): Why the difference? My theory is that the Outlook value is "Date", meaning when the file was first created, whereas Explorer shows the more meaningful "Date modified" - but why would Outlook do this? Isn't date modified a more useful date to show than creation date? How does grub find the device in which grub.cfg resides?

As I understand it, the uefi bios loads grub.efi from the efi partition. This now loads a bunch of grub modules and the configuration file from the /boot directory. But how does grub find the correct device in which the boot partition resides? In grub legacy, you'd usually install grub to a specific partition, using # grub-install --root-directory=/dev/sda So it's quite clear where it will look for the boot directory. How does grub-efi figure out the correct device? How does one use LibreOffice FILTERXML function on XML documents with namespaces?

I'm struggling to get the value of an XML node using the FilterXML() function when the XML document's document element has a namespace specified. Example: 100 = FILTERXML(A1, "/Document/Element/Value[1]") I managed to get FilterXML working by removing the namespace in the following maer: = FILTERXML(SUBSTITUTE(A1, "", ""), "/DocumentElement/Field/Value[1]") Is there a way to get the value of the XML node without having to remove the namespace(s)?
