Please help. There's use for my old Mac mini, so I fired it up, after it's been unused for some years.

After booting it shows the (fake) progress bar and that's it. No logon screen. I can coect to it by ssh, so that part is ok and I can have a look at the log files!

The last entries in /var/log/system.log:

Apr 16 16:50:26 kleine-appel launchd: getty repeating too quickly on port /dev/console, sleeping Apr 16 16:50:56 kleine-appel /System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app/Contents/MacOS/loginwindow: Login Window Application Started Apr 16 16:50:57 kleine-appel launchd: /System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app/Contents/MacOS/loginwindow port /dev/console exited abnormally: Illegal instruction Apr 16 16:50:57 kleine-appel /System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app/Contents/MacOS/loginwindow: Login Window Application Started Apr 16 16:50:58 kleine-appel launchd: /System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app/Contents/MacOS/loginwindow port /dev/console exited abnormally: Illegal instruction Apr 16 16:50:58 kleine-appel launchd: getty repeating too quickly on port /dev/console, sleeping

I ran it in SingleUser mode and performed fsck and the NVRAM has been resetted (which brought the chimes back to live, but they're gone away now again...).

Anybody has a clue?
