I have a TP-Link WR841N router. This seems to work fine except that when a specific ipad is coected to the wireless, it can access the inteet ok but no other devices can. There is no problem when iphones or other computers are coected. All devices can always still coect to the router. The actual network setup is a bit more complicated. I have set up a Devolo dlan 1200+ network in my home. According to the devolo Cockpit software my bandwidth is displayed at > 200 Mbit/sec. I was trying to install Debian in a dual boot with the already installed Windows 10 on my laptop. Now when I boot up the PC it shows the Dell logo and the options to press F2 for Setup and F12 for Boot Options. It does not go anywhere from there, but that's probably because I screwed up the MBR. If I press F2 in order to access the Setup, the screen tus black and shows an underscore [ _ ] in the top left coer. Then it just stays like that, and only responses to Ctrl+Alt+Delete. I just bought Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SSD to speed up my laptop. I moved all my virtual machines to SSD so they will boot very fast. The only thing that I was not aware before buying an SSD is that it has limitations of write cycles. I use one of my VM's(Win7 x64) for C++ development and every time during recompilation of the project around 1GB of files were been overwritten. My router, a Netgear DGND3300 from Costco years ago, won't issue valid IP addresses when being used as a WAP in my home network. Devices used are ruing either iOS or OS X. The network consists of a cable modem/router combo, and 2 other WAPs coected in different areas of the house. One of the WAPs works perfectly fine, but the other (the DGND3300 referred to here) simply will not hand out an IP properly if configured as an AP. Any devices (iOS and OS X both) that coect to it will only receive a self-assigned IP like 169.254.xxx.xxx and I have no idea why. I am setting up a device (BNC RTSA spectrum analyzer) which coects to my Windows 7 laptop directly through the etheet. I can ping the device in the command window, but it does not show up when I run ipconfig. I can use the developer's (BNC) GUI to find the device, but I have to manually enter the IP addresss. I can manually enter the ip address in my inteet browser and coect to the device. (This proves the device is working and plugged in). The device is configured to use DHCP. But if DHCP fails, the device creates an Auto-IP: 169.254.x.y. I would like to avoid setting a static ip address, since I discoect/coect my device to different computers. I have a separete developer computer for a windows CE device, and are using "Windows mobile device center" to uppload files to the device.When logged in as usual on that computer the device coects just fine, but when I coect to the computer with RDP, the device wont coect. If I log in on the computer, put the device in the dock, it will coect and will be coected if I logging in with RDP as long as I dont close the program. I recently purchased a Razer BlackWidow Chroma RGB keyboard. It worked fine for a while using the Razer Synapse software to change the lighting effects and macros, but now whenever I launch Synapse with the keyboard plugged in, the software just says, "To get started, please coect a Razer Synapse enabled device". I have tried unplugging and plugging back in the keyboard, updating the software, and rebooting the (Windows 10 64 bit) system and it still doesn't work. I have an eGlobal Mini-PC which includes an Intel HD5500 grahpics, coected via HDMI to a LG 42LD460 TV. It generally works well, but: When I tu the TV on, the PC make a "device coected" and then a "device discoected" sound. When I switch the TV to another HDMI input, the PC continously makes "device coected" / "device discoected" sounds through its speaker - I have to mute those to avoid it. This TV didn't have this issue with my previous PC, which had an AMD Radeon HD4650, also coected via HDMI. Questions: How can I determine what device is being coected/discoected? I mentioned on some Linux systems, that there are actual files on the root partition in /dev in unmounted state. These will be covered by the devtmpfs mount once established, which usually happens quite early eg. when the inital ramdisk remounts anything to the root partition. Here is the situation : (I'm on Windows 10) I need to use a barcode scaer (Riotec FS5027L model) for a software I'm currently working on. They gave me a programming quick guide that simply said i needed to install the PL-2303 USB serial Driver. So I installed it, and plugged the barcode scaer. Windows quickly detected something and installed it. I then wanted to run the checkChipVersion.exe given with the driver installer to see which chip is used by the barcode scaer, and for that i needed the COM port number it was using.
