I'm currently trying to connect my local machine remotely to my server in the office. The objective is to set this machine up as a domain oppose to workstation so it acts the same as if it was in the office. I've established a successful VPN to the Server with no problems. I tried connecting to the domain using xyz.local however it couldn't find it. I've then amended the ipv4 settings for the VPN for which the primary and secondary DNS are pointing to what the server gives out. Still no luck. I'...

I have a VM with Remote Desktop access enabled. It runs a regular Windows 8.1 Pro setup. I want to be able to login on my laptop without having to create and login to a local account before I can do that. The laptop has Windows 8.1 Pro installed. Basically when I tu on my laptop I want to enable a screen with IP/Computer, Useame and Password. I would then use the VM RDP settings to login. Is that possible? I'm using Archlinux with my Xonar DSX.My problem happens when I want to use my headphones, I just open Pulseaudio, in the Configuration tab I select the profile for analog output and so far so good. My headphones are working perfectly. But if I want to change the volume, using Pulseaudio nothing seems to change, except for when I set volume to 0% (in this case it mutes the headphones). I have a couple of DB servers that each run a RemoteApp that users launch to access said DB. The problem is that the application itself does not always exit gracefully when the user ends it, which leaves a remote session open and the user is unable to access said app again. I am currently using Ubuntu Mate 16.04. When the system starts up the NetworkManager applet does not display any wireless networks. The only "solution" I currently know is to issue sudo iwlist scan on the command line. Afterwards NetworkManager sees the networks and I can register to my WLAN. I have 2 accounts on my desktop pc because I dont want a password on my main account so it logs in faster. Well I like to remote desktop into my computer to watch movies on my tablet so I had to make a new account with a password since rdp doesnt let you connect to accounts with no password. I have a machine which I can SSH into, but the logs I need are all compressed separately in a folder. (/path/to/folder/log_folder/{log1.gz, log2.gz, log3.gz, log4.gz, ...}) My problem is: I don't have the privileges to upcompress them. I can copy them to my local machine, but I don't know how to do more than one at a time, and there are dozens of log files.
