I am using Windows 10 (well, the version is irrelevant I believe) and I would like to execute my programs through 'Run' just for convenience. My problem is, where do I look for each software's Run keyword ? For example, to open paint, you can run 'mspaint', to open Notepad++ I luckily figured out you can run notepad++ but what about other processes ? I need a small script to download some programs. The URL's never change but the files do. Like when you download malwarebytes. Example: "https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mbam_current/" The address doesnt change but the file name downloaded does. Every script i see, requires that you specify a file name. I dont want to do that, I want the script to pull the filename from the sites header which would include the version name of that file in that filename. I cant seem to find any way of doing this. Background: A few days back I wanted to play AOE2 over inteet. For that I used Voobly application for finding the users and launching the game. But problem was that since my local ISP had blocked port 16000, I was unable to play. I asked the local ISP to forward the port 16000 and they didn't know what did that mean. After that I installed Hideme VPN application and it somehow did the port forwarding and I was able to play. Question: How does the VPN overcome the port blocking restriction? Using windows 7 Pro SP1 On my laptop, I have to use both a wired and wireless coection - some traffic (eg accessing specific systems) I can only access through the wired coection - and others only through the wireless coection. Both are company on-site coections - they're just not very joined up. At the moment, I have to switch between them through the day - if I leave both on, it's hit or miss which coection windows will try and use (but usually the wired), so I unplug/disable the one I don't want and then change back when I need it. Is there a better way of directing specific applications / protocols through to a specific coection? Or, if...

I'm searching a google chrome extension to reduce my time wasted on some website (facebook, youtube etc...) Here is the behavior I'm searching for: I want to be able to add any procrastination website url (facebook, youtube...)in the extension preference panel. Then, every 5 minute I spend on this particular website, I want a notification to appear to inform me how much time I have wasted. ( for example a javascript popup saying "you have wasted 20 minute on this website today"). The easiest way to do this with a DNS service. If you subscribe to Alteate DNS or Open DNS, they may be able to get most of that done for you with very little configuration. Just have your router hand out their DNS server IPs, and you may be good to go. I believe there are free service tiers at both. Alteatively, while probably not possible on your router (due to hardware lacking the required horsepower), Pi-Hole is a project that does exactly what you're looking for as an actual service ruing on your network. looking for peoples advice on my delima. I was look to improve the ruing of photoshop on my laptop. Was reading that making my photoshop scratch disk on a SSD is best for performance and is better then ruing the scratch disk on the same drive as my main machine is, in this case it's on my c: drive.
