Hard Drive checking in Windows reports a lot of unnecessary info, requiring that you read through it the chkdsk report, etc. Also chkdsk can't fix problems on an in-use files (like the Windows drive). I've created a bootable usb3 running an encrypted persistence version of the latest kali linux. I've successfully booted up from 2 other machines; 1 running windows 10 and a 2015 razer blade. I have been trying for a couple days now to get Kali Linux onto my USB drive so I can boot from it on other machines. I have an UEFI system with dual boot between Windows and Linux. I've tried to encrypt Windows system disk. I've selected to test it first but, after reboot, it stated that it failed to retrieve keys from TPM. I tried to change TPM password and reset it but it didn't helped. tpm.msc claims all time that TPM chip is ready to use. I can edit local policy but I'd prefer to use TPM. I am currently in the process of re-configuring my laptop, in order to allow me to use full-disk LUKS encryption (including the /boot partition) (See this article). For years, I've been running Windows as a guest inside of my Linux install by using /dev/md0 to point to a disk containing the relevant partitions, and the space in between them backed by files on disk.
