I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series laptop, and, at first, the letter g stopped working... Taking it off and cleaning it didn't work... No big deal, I just ordered a new keyboard. Then the g key started sticking sometimes, typing gggggggg anywhere there was a cursor, and trying to select icons starting with g. After a bit longer, it was sticking all the time. It got to where I couldn't even sign in. I can't type my password. It just starts typing endless g's without stopping. (This all happened within about 15 minutes) Here's the crazy part. Thank you Eva G.: - This registry key controls the "Terminal Services Client" and that's used by Remote Desktop in windows. Whenever a group policy get updated or changed in any way and the admin's server pushes out that policy, this coection gets denied and forces us (the user) to re-login into whatever machine we were just coected to. Earlier I had a power cut, possibly due to weather. My PC was powered on and logged in but locked at the time, and when I tued it back on later, trying to log in resulted in the error message "The object invoked has discoected from its client." with the option only to try logging in again. I booted into Safe Mode and I can log in properly that way, but I'm suspecting a storage or memory failure. What most likely happened? And how could I fix it, hopefully without restoring anything? I have Win7 Win64, with a GeForce GTX 760 and a Haswell i5-4690. On GeForce I have my TV coected using HDMI and a 2560x1600 monitor coected with DVI-D. On Haswell I have a 2560x1440 monitor, an old but very good 1680x1050 monitor, plus my new Yamaha A2050 receiver coected using HDMI. I know I could have coected Yamaha on GeForce, I'll fix that in the near future. I can tu off any of my monitor, and before Yamaha I could tu off my TV too, and all was good. I have an IIS 6.1 website on a local Windows 7 32-bit machine that serves HTML and MP4 videos through Inteet Explorer all on the local machine. An inteet coection is not required as this is all local storage and local hosting via IIS. IIS is configured to serve the MP4 videos as downloadable files, not streaming in any way. I do have the proper MIME type ".mp4" with "video/mp4" setup in the IIS server, so I do not believe that is the problem. When the machine is coected to the inteet, clicking an MP4 video link in any HTML page served by the local IIS server results in Windows Media Player opening up and playing the video in its own window.
