I have dual boot Ubuntu 16.04 LTS with Windows 10 on a Dell computer. I have iwlwifi-7260-13.ucode as the firmware. My Ubuntu mysteriously started having wifi problems after the family got a new router. It did not detect any wireless network. Networking was on but it said ‘no network devices available‘. (look like this). I have two Windows 10 machines with Cygwin + Xming, one of them works fine, but I can't get the other one to work, if I try to start ddd for instance, I get: Error: Can't open display: If I manually set $DISPLAY it works, but X11 forwarding from remote hosts doesn't The second machine works flawlessy, $DISPLAY is automatically set and X11 forwarding works. Is it possible to assign alias to router IP Address 192.168.1.1 to a readable string? Mybe something like this: 192.168.1.1 -> router.home There is no need for router.home to be reachable from the outside web, but only in the LAN. In fact, it shouldn't be reachable from outside web. I have a laptop (Win7) with two Etheet ports (actually one original, one USB-Etheet adapter). Both of them can work individually well. I have searched for a solution to this problem on the inteet for months, to no avail. Whenever I use putty to SSH to a server from one of my Windows 7 machines (64bit, PRO), I am constantly seeing control characters appear as if typed in by my computer. I am not touching the keyboard. It's so bad that it will cause the session on some unix hosts to drop spontaneously, and also causes havok if I try and edit programs on the server. Basically it's a nightmare. In previos Windows versions I can to "click" forget the network configuration for a given wifi name. I could'n do it in Windows 10. I try to "right click" in the network name but nothing apears. Each device is plugged into a different company subnet. eth0 is plugged in x.y.5.184/29, while eth1 is plugged into x.y.88.224/27. I want the server to listen on both devices. Server-IP in .5.184/29 shall be x.y.5.186, Server-IP in .88.224/27 shall be x.y.88.253. I have a computer which was working fine until this moing when it would no longer tu on correctly, it would power up then just beep with no signal being sent to the screen. However I then moved it to my work station to look at it and it worked fine, I then tried it using other power outlets and it continued to work until I took it back to the workstation where it wouldn't work. Chances are you need to set the full path for binaries like screen since when the cron job runs, it will not have the $PATH values set the same way you as a user have those set when you login via Terminal or SSH. An exteal drive (Seagate Freeagent Xtreme 1.5TB) has some issues: the filesystem caot be recognized (1 NTFS partition but detected as RAW) the drive caot be accessed - an error pops up saying "Location inaccessible: No access to F:. Device is not ready." However, it works fine if coected to another laptop ruing Win8.1. The issue has shown up in the end of May, after some Win10 update. On the HP Embedded Web Server (which you can open by typing the printers' IPv4 address in your inteet browser), you can set a destination folder to scan to.
