I am currently using Ubuntu Mate 16.04. When the system starts up the NetworkManager applet does not display any wireless networks. The only "solution" I currently know is to issue sudo iwlist scan on the command line. Afterwards NetworkManager sees the networks and I can register to my WLAN. This is quite aoying to do every time I boot the system. Is there any permanent solution for this bug? PS: I have also confirmed with rfkill that the device is not software blocked. My computer is not coecting to the Inteet. And we have an Intranet website which requires Java applet. It is found that whenever I enter the Intranet website, the Java console states that it is trying to download "securitypack.jar" from the Inteet: network: Checking for update at: https://javadl-esd-secure.oracle.com/update/securitypack.jar May I ask what is this "securitypack.jar" for? My first question is what can you do and what can't you do with an apple watch with an activation lock. My second question is how can I unpair the watch since the phone is a different location (I'm in South Africa and my brother is in New York with my phone). Is it possible to remove it from iCloud.com I have to give the watch back to my work since I'm leaving but I can't unpair it. I had to switch Apple IDs, and some of my previous apps original downloaded from the Apple Store aren't updating anymore (Apple asks me to login to my previous account, which I caot do now). Is there any way of changing or removing my old Apple ID from an app? Where are these IDs locatedd within the apps? I have a PDF open in preview and am trying to search for a phrase, rather than just searching string matching exactly what is in the search box it searches for each word separately I can apply quotes around the text, but this doesn’t work if you leave out part of the word. Our DHCP delivers the address of an inteal (working) NTP-Server. However our firewall reports a "massive" Storm of NTP-Requests (from iPhones, iPads) trying to contact some server on the inteet. (it's blocked) With 8 Devices on the network, it's like 1000 attempts per minute - why doesn't the iDevices take the inteal NTP delivered through the DHCP-Scope configuration? I would like to breath life into this old printer. The printer is 100% working and it was in use, but the old P3 PC (with Win XP) which it was coected died. The replacement PC is sadly ruing Win 10 Pro x64 and it can not be downgraded at least not legally. The printer is coected directly to the PC on the parallel port as it was on the old PC, but I can not make it work. I tried a couple of different drivers like the Microsoft Generic PS printer driver but it wont print. I see that the PC and printer are communicating because when I send a printing job to the printer the busy LED starts to blink but it does not start to print. My guess is that the drivers I tried sending the data to the print...

I've been trying enlightenment as DE in Debian Jessie. Unfortunately, they dropped the xembed support in E20, so only libappindicator-aware applications show up on the systray. Theoretically, nm-applet supports appindicator since 0.8.3, but it doesn't show up in the systray. blueman for example does show in the systray libappindicator1 and libappindicator3-1 are installed. My initial hypotheses were: e20 is SOMEHOW reporting it provides an xembed-capable systray and some applications use it by default, falling back on libappindicator when not available nm-applet still does not work using libappindicator. Bought a new mac but can't access wireless networks I used to because their passwords are saved on my old pc. Can wifi names and their passwords be exported from a Windows 7 PC and imported to a OSX Yosemite? Can this be done locally (without sending the settings over the inteet), e.g. via USB? Recently my Mid-2011 iMac (default specs except 2x 4GB RAM boards were added years ago, ruing latest OS X and most recently updated days ago) has been locking up during use - a single random app would get a beach-ball - sometimes it would finally clear, and sometimes the system would lock-up hard - the dock, the hard drive icons, some finder toolbar icons, etc would vanish, the mouse wouldn't move and keyboard won't work so I have no choice but a hard reboot. iTunes would halt playback as if there was an issue accessing the disk or ram. My company uses Google Apps for which I am a super admin. I personally use the web interface for email and calendar but have the accounts setup on my macbook and iphone so I can use Mail.app or Calendar.app. My colleagues mostly use Apple's Calendar on OSX and iPhone. Calendar.app on my laptop keeps notifying me when one of my colleagues has an invite in their email. It is really irritating and confusing to receive their invites. I have seen several answers regarding previous versions of OS X that address this question using the Set Up Bluetooth Device option, but that seems to have been removed in El Capitan. Every time I try to pair a keyboard that has already been paired with another machine, the pairing process fails on the Enter Passcode screen. The keyboard simply refuses to accept the keypresses. For my sins I have a predominantly Apple-centric network at home consisting of: Macbook (stuck on Mountain Lion) iMac (stuck on Mavericks due to ATI 5750 driver issues on later versions) Multiple iPads, Pods, and Phones. QNAP NAS WNDR3700 ruing Gargoyle (Open-WRT) Netgear unmanaged switch What I'm trying to achieve: Manage user accounts better as more machines (kids homework etc) come onto the network. Would be good to tie in computer access with NAS logon etc. Radius? Control machine access better - including limiting them from using the primary iMac Access restriction. More on bandwidth quotas but also limiting time on device. Download caching, especially for updates (iOS9 x 5? No thanks.)...

A few days ago I had a new mailbox in Apple Mail, which I did not create but which is listed under my on-line account with GMX. The mailbox is called "RegMail", it isn't on GMX and it doesn't delete. If I delete the mailbox from ~/Library.Mail/. it comes back. Nothing shows up under a virus scan and it contains no emails. Rebuild and sync do not get rid of it. Anyone else seen this? How to get rid? I would like to ask about proper management of SSL certificates in Keychain.
