Vim occasionally freezes with 100% CPU usage during movements on my linux box. I know that this is too vague a bug report to make anything out of it, and I use a rather large number of macros and custom settings that are likely to be the cause.
How can I diagnose what is going on? Crash is very occasional (once a month of intense use), but remains annoying. Only a kill -9 will stop vim once frozen, which implies possible data loss.
I know of -w logging option, but this logs only (and all) user-issued commands, and I would have remarked if there was a very specific command leading to crash, so I'm not sure I can make sthg out of such a log—I'll probably try it though, and automatically truncate the file at every successful exit from vim.
