I had the opportunity to try a bit of Sonic-Pi on a RPi and want to delve deeper in livecoding but on my main computer. I'm currently using Debian Jessie and only Chuck and SuperCollider are readily available.
I tried to install the different language I'd like to test (being: extempore, sonic pi, oveote, ixi, music as data, fluxus, tidal) but couldn't make any of them work correctly. Most of the time, I encountered problem when compiling the core program or its dependencies.
So I'd like to know if changing to another distribution will help me easily install, try and enjoy most/all of these (because these softwares or their dependencies are available as packages, or they are specific help/community about them…) And if so, which one?
Thanks in advance!
(Hoping I posted this in the right place. If not, sorry for the inconvenience … and please, don't hesitate to redirect me where I can get help)
