transferring chrome can it be done

my neighbour( we can call him ted) has a acer travelmate 2420 thats uses inteet explorer and needs the certificates to update but as you may know you cant get the certificates without updating (you see my problem) now im no tech wiz but i did say about getting chrome installed he asked if i would try and i couldnt do it off of his but i said id take a look on my pc and find the answer thus im here does any one know a way i can get chrome onto teds laptop from my computer (can i copy and paste my version of chrome onto his laptop with my memory stick) or is there a download i can use please
