Pc won't boot from CD

Doesn't matter what I select in the bios, I even disabled HDD and floppy as option in the bios but no matter what the pc starts booting from HDD. When instead of entering the Bios menu I have direct access to the boot menu I HDD is selected (with a '+'), problem is I can't move up and down among options, nor I can't exit the menu, as if the direct boot menu doesn't recognise the keyboard at all while the Bios actually does. The keyboard is plugged through USB, and I've read this old mobo models might require PS/2 plugs as in old keyboard. PS/2 suggestion here http://www.techrepublic.com/forums/discussions/computer-wont-boot-from-cd-drive-1/

Mobo is a GA-M61SME-S2L (rev. 2.0) http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2644#ov

As you can see there's only one IDE interface to which one of the two CDROM is plugged to (which rules out IDE 0/IDE 1 issues I've read about in the same above quoted thread)

The second CDROM is plugged to one of the 2 SATAs....

Any ideas?
