Using a lower tray from a previous series printer

I have brother printers all around the office of the same kind. I have been replacing the broken ones with new ones of the same exact type. HOWEVER, my model has been discontinued, and I have had to purchase the next in the series.

How can I make the lower tray from the previous series work with the newer series?
