Streaming ffmpeg vs vlc

I am ruing windows 10. I need to stream audio from a microphone and eventually video from a webcam one other computer. This computer also needs to run powerpoint so I need a relatively low overhead solution. Is one of these programs better for this job, or is their a third, better solution."?
