I cannot find rEFInd installation on my macbook pro to remove it

I installed rEFInd 0.10.3 on my MacBook Pro and after installation by Windows 7 bootcamp installation will not boot; it says "no bootable OS found". If there is a workaround to get this working I haven't found it.

I would like to completely remove rEFInd. When installing I ran: mkdir /Volumes/ESP then installed with the refind-install script

I tried the uninstall suggestions here with no luck: Can not remove rEFInd on my macbook pro

The removal instructions in the rEFInd documentation did not help either.
