How to switch desktop tower computer and latop virtually? (not using one monitor)

I've been googling a lot on this, but I find moslty "how to switch computers using multiple monitors or with keyboard&mouse with / without KVM switch".

But what I would like to know is how to swith one comouter with an another virtually, like if you usually use deaktop computer, then you need to go to a meeting and swap deaktop with laptop to bring "desktop" over to the meeting.

I've seen someone pressing some hotkey or something on desktop, then monitors on desktop & laptop swapped, now he was using "desktop" on laptop, "laptop" on desktop. I know we can do this using something like KVM swith, but he wasn't using any cables. So I assume using network.. can remote desktop do that, or is there any other way ? I am so curious and want to do it, but I can't figure it out :(((( I would appreciate if anyone could help with this..!!
