airodump-ng : can't read my iPhone

I am trying to capture packets from my iPhone with my desktop running the latest version of Kali Linux with all the updates and the latest version of Virtual Box. I tued off my wireless device, switched it in monitor mode, killed off the processes and tued it back on like the documentation said to. For some reason running the command below does not show my iPhone's data.

airodump-ng -c 6 -w Scan_test --bssid [mymacaddress] wlan0

It shows my router's information but the STATION is blank. What is going on here?

USB Device: TPLINK TL-WN821N (USB 3.0 in Virtual Box)

Station: iPhone 6 (latest iOS update)

Router: Belkin N300 Wireless N Router (Using WPA2)
