Can Plex backup non-media files

I'm thinking about getting a personal server that can stream media and backup files.

Question: Can plex also store/manage/backup non-media files? If not is there any software or software combination that can?

I have searched but can only see software/hardware for streaming or backup not both.

I've look at Getting started on a multi-purpose home server that i can also access via the inteet: Media Streaming, Game Server, File storage/Backup but I don't want to build/program my own server unless there are no other options
