I'm writing some tools to clean id3 tags in audio files, and I'd like to generate test data from real mp3's. What I want to do is remove all audio data (or even just trim it down to 1 sec would be fine) without touching any of the metadata. I need this to work from the command line, and cross-platform between Linux and Windows would be the cherry on the cake. Does something like this exist? Can this be done with e.g. FFmpeg?
