Most of the fields of the database are simple text or numbers but one field is a monster containing the <strong>entire HTML code for a single table</strong> (starting with the <strong><code>&lt;TABLE&gt;</code></strong> tag and ending with the <strong><code>&lt;/TABLE&gt;</code></strong> tag). This table has complex multi-column and/or multi-row formatting and very unpredictable contents so I cannot *break-it down" into smaller fields. </p> <p>Below is a quick-and-dirty mockup of what I am trying to find out how to do. I want to convert the text data in column (E) to display visually like the table in column (F) but stay top-edge aligned with the rest of the data in the row. I've been having problems with one of my monitors going in and out quickly. Like, every 3 seconds it shuts off, then back on. I thought my monitor was going bad, but when I moved the ports around on the video card, I noticed any monitor I have plugged into my first display port does the same thing. I really don't want to RMA this thing, and have them send it back, and them not find a problem. The reason I think this may happen, is that this problem only happens about once a week, for five minutes. So, once a week, for five minutes, my monitor tus on and off every 3 seconds.....it's frustrating, but not the worst thing ever.</p> <p>Here's the steps I took to narrow it down to the video card.</p> <ol> <li>I tried a different monitor on the same port, with the same problem.</li> <li>I tried a new cable, with multiple monitors, with the same problem.</li> <li>I plugged four monitors into all of the display ports for a week, and the one connected to the dp 1, was the only one that had a problem.</li> </ol> <p>So, are there any kind of error logs for nvidia that I could see something that's going on? </p> <p>Honestly, I'd rather just get my money back, since at the time I spent about $620 on it, and now I could get a 1080 for about that much. Also, on two of the occasions that the computer was stuck in the boot, I removed all DIMMs and put back one at a time but it did not boot. </p> <p>I finally realized that whenever I remove the hard drive connectors (SATA and power), and plug it back in, the computer will then boot. To my surprise I couldn't access the /Users/myuseame folder on the image, apparentlty because its Admin and user UUIDs were now different. As an admin on a new install I would normally just assume ownership of the old content and would be good to go, but the image is read-only so I can't alter the permissions on it.</p> <p>My question is: Is there any way to access that content – i.e. as an admin of the Windows 10 Pro installation make Windows to ignore the offending old permissions? Or is my only option to write the image onto a disk so that I can modify the permissions as needed? It is just recently (the first time I ever wanted upload) when I wanted to send an email and it took ages to send. And when sending emails with attachment it was way too long. I never waited until it was sent and cancelled it after 45 min of waiting (just so you have an image). All this happens over home wifi. The laptop is right next to the wifi router.</p> <p>Now: Every other wifi I connect to is working. School, work, public hotspots. Perfectly working, down- and upload. </p> <p>And the other thing is: Every other device that is connected to my home wifi router is working with down- and upload perfectly (LAN or WiFi, it works). Only my laptop doesn't work over wifi, but it works over LAN of the same router. </p> <p>Don't get me wrong, there is <em>still</em> a little bit upload left, so I can surf without noticing too much, but when I <em>really</em> want to upload, it fails. Even speedtests fail when it comes to upload, they just endlessly try to load.</p> <ul> <li>I tried deactivating firewall and antivirus, didn't work.</li> <li>I tried switching between 2,4 ghz and 5 ghz, didn't work.</li> <li>I switched from wifi to LAN cable, it worked (uploads then worked).</li> <li>I wanted to mirror a port on the router, but there is no option for that (so I could've looked what happens to the packets)</li> <li>I tried to upload over wifi on different times of the day (when there were less and more devices), but it didn't work either (so other devices are not the culprit)</li> <li>I even deactivated the only rule I had on my router, which was there to make sure I have a flawless NAT to my ps3 (just for gaming), it didn't work.</li> <li>I tried various wifi channels on my router, it didn't work.</li> <li>I restarted my router and my laptop a dozen times, it didn't work.</li> <li>I tried different browsers and applications for uploading to the inteet on my laptop, it didn't work.</li> </ul> <p>I am more than sure that something is wrong with my router, but the logs say everything is fine (no errors, no waings). However, it has started slowing down a lot recently (28000 hours of use so maybe it's dying, last year I moved the pagefile back to C as the read/write wait was slowing the entire computer), plus an upgrade would be nice, so I was thinking about getting a 4TB drive for temp files and games.</p> <p>The only reasonably priced 7200rpm one I found is a Toshiba USB 3.0 exteal drive, so I'm wondering if USB 3 is sufficient for use such as what I mentioned above? The current 1TB exteal I have is a bit unreliable and slow, (good for storing media but not much else), so I don't want to risk it without checking first.</p> <p><strong>Update:</strong> <br>I have the drive, it's read/write speeds are over 50% higher than every other drive I have, and in its current new state, it can write lots of small files faster than my existing drives can. This is also using the PCI to USB 3 extension, not the slots built into the motherboard. I'll update this if anything changes, but the answer to the question is there definitely doesn't appear to be any loss in performance.</p> <p><strong>Update 2 (1 year later):</strong> I'm using it with an SSD for the C drive now, and there have been no problems for at least as long as I've had Windows 10. I'm using it to store around 2.3TB of games, photos, and music, and it's still going fast. The original bios says American Megatrends at the top. I leaed that they just provide the source code to compile (? or maybe just a logo?) but Jetway is the one who configures and produces the actual bios. So I reached out to Jetway, and they have been unbelievably helpful. I told them my goal, and they got right to it and shipped a custom bios.</p> <p>The goal was simple, allow me to configure bios to refuse any other medium besides the disk connected via SATA Port 0 to be booted from. What they provided did almost exactly that, except it was not configurable, it just was set to not allow anything other than SATA Port 0 to boot. </p> <p>So I plug my SATA disk in running a custom version of the Crux Linux distro, and bios reports please connect a disk, as if it sees none (even though a glance into bios settings shows a disk connected to port 0). </p> <p>After some debugging I change the SATA-Mode from AHCI to IDE. This allows the disk to be seen, but boot still fails. This time it makes it a bit further, and fails when looking for root /. </p> <p>To start, I have decent experience debugging Linux boot. Further, I have an exact copy (hardware &amp; software wise) of this system, using the standard bios that came with the NF98. So I can take the disk, boot it in the standard bios, and everything is successful. When I put it in custom bios, not successful. </p> <p>After further debugging, this is what I think I know:</p> <p>-With sata mode as IDE</p> <p>--Linux (crux) boots until looking for root</p> <p>--Vista boots successfully</p> <p>With sata mode as AHCI</p> <p>--Linux (crux) does not boot successfully (more, the boot process doesn't start)</p> <p>--Vista does not boot successfully (more, boot process doesn't start)</p> <p>The Crux OS has slightly outdated custom keel on it and uses initramfs (also custom). The Jetway engineers suggested upgrading the keel, I thought fair enough, this did not help. </p> <p>Then I figured I would try Arch Linux, which also failed in IDE mode, and wasn't seen in AHCI. This was a 3.0-ARCH keel. </p> <p>Next, and finally, I installed arch again, but this time to a single partition and used dev, not UUID or LABEL. In AHCI mode, still it was not seen. In IDE mode, still fails on transfer to root. </p> <p>BUT, when I select Arch's fallback boot menu option, and SATA mode is IDE, I get semi successfully boot; that is I get to login prompt, but there is a decent amount of errors during boot. I am currently looking for what is making the difference. </p> <p>My apologies for long text.
