Package-grub2 failed to install into /target

I am having MAJOR problems installing Linux on my computer. Windows 10 came pre-installed. I then installed Zorin OS 10 alongside Windows to create a dual-boot computer. Everything went according to plan until I found out that Zoring OS 11 had been released. Since OS 10 was buggy and continuously getting worse, I wanted OS 11. I started the installation as normal and everything went according to plan... until grub2 package failed to install into /target, whatever that is (I did a bit of research and couldn't find out what it was or even find it on a normal Linux system).

Since then, I have tried to install Ubuntu x64, Mint Rosa x64, Zorin OS 9 Lite, Zorin OS 10 Core x64, and Zorin OS 11 Core x64, the most recent being Mint. I would like to install Mint. When I tried to install Ubuntu (my last choice), it barely worked. compiz failed about every 5 minutes. Many other things did not work well (probably one of those times Linux does not want to work with the hardware). I didn't want to deal with it, so I tried to install Mint again, but to no avail.

While installing Mint, I have tried messing with the partitions created during installation using gparted, but nothing worked. I tried using a chroot environment. This looks like what I did. I used a program (the name of which I cannot remember and I can't find it on the Web now) which is commonly recommended to fix Linux installation problems. It told me what commands to type into the command-line (the chroot environment). I told it to purge grub2, or what was left of it, before re-installing it, which it did with success. After it finished re-installing grub2, it said everything was accomplished with success. I tried to boot into the system and the BIOS said that no OS was installed.

I have almost exclusively worked with Mint to try installing Linux. After hours of research, I saw a couple of articles that said that grub2 was not installing because there was a bug in the installation process. How then can the installation work once (Zorin OS 10 Core x64) and then not work the second time (Zorin OS 10 Core x64)? That may be the problem, but I doubt it. I have found many things on the Inteet that fixed the problem. In fact, every question I came across (the asker was having the same exact problem I was) was answered, and the answer worked. I must have tried at least 10 different fixes, along with 15-20 of my own, and nothing worked.

I have done hours of research to find a cure with no luck. After I tried installing Zorin OS 11, I didn't have Windows anymore, by my choice. Because of that I have been running everything, including my small C++ programs, on a bootable flash drive. I've been doing this for about 2 months now. Needless to say that because of this, I have to change all the settings and not install anything every time I tu my computer on, I'm getting very annoyed and want this problem fixed.

It's worth noting here that I have tried making bootable flash drives using .iso files with Unetbootin and Rufus.

For my hardware, I have an Intel iCore i3 running at 2.1 GHz and 6GB of RAM.
