Windows 10 desktops resize when monitors go to sleep

I have a Windows 10 setup with 2 different monitors (brands, resolutions, sizes, and DPI) and when my computer wakes up from sleep, all of my applications are moved to one monitor. The applications that were maximized are also all improperly sized (they don't extend across the whole monitor like the should, but the windows show that they are maximized)

My video card is a GTX 970, one monitor is a Dell P2715Q, and the other is a Korean Amazon special (2560x1440, Dual-DVI IPS Screen).

I think that the problem is that because the monitors have different DPIs, and the monitors wake up at different speeds, Windows thinks that one of the monitors is disconnected and shifts all of the applications from the "disconnected" monitor to the other monitor.

Is there any way to prevent this from happening?
