Resizing Win 10 partition (only Win 8 installation CD)

I am about to resize my Win 10 partition to install Ubuntu. From what I read Windows partition tool will not be able to give you space you want, since it cannot move certain MFT-files. Using GParted might cause Windows fail to load (does not matter where you shrink from left or right). One can try to repair it with Windows installation CD, but in my case I do not have Win 10 installation CD. I only have Win 8 installation CD and not sure if I would be able to repair Win 10 with Win 8 CD. Any suggestions?
