How can you add existing Azure AD to a new subscription with a Visual Studio Team Services instance?

We have an existing Azure AD set-up, which is part of our move to Dynamics CRM Online and Office 365. It's sync'ed to our local AD.

I'm trying to set-up a VSTS instance in a new subscription, which is authenticated using our main AAD.

Setting up the instance isn't a problem. The problem is the only directory I can use is the "Default Directory". I can't see anywhere to use our main AAD?

Even more confusing is ... if we go through the Sign up for Team Services and follow the instructions in section "Sign up for Visual Studio Team Services with a work or school account", we get a VSTS instance which can see our main AAD
