Converting .GHO to .vmx

I wanted to convert a .gho file to .vmx or any vmware player compatible one. I have used the following command to convert gho to vmdk

Ghost32 -clone,mode=restore,src=Drive_D.GHO,dst=DriveD.vmdk -batch -sure

It created a single vmdk file on my destination and no vmx files. I could not open vmdk file using VMware Player 7. It throws the error,

Filed to open virtual machine : VMX file is corrupt.

What could went wrong here ?
