I removed my old hard disk and put in a SSD in my laptop (Acer E-5 771). However on booting the EFI informed me that there was no bootable drive. Booting into Ubuntu on a USB, I couldn't see the SSD listed at all in the Disks app. This suggests that the disk can't be found at all, not just that it isn't bootable. I had disabled secure boot. Switching back to the default hard disk worked.
How can I get my computer to recognise the SSD?
