Unable to connect to HostedNetwork which I had previously connected to

I have two laptops, one running windows 7 and the other running ubuntu. I am using company wifi which I can connect only one device at a time.
I set up a hostednetwork on the windows laptop (using netsh wlan ... ) and connected my ubuntu laptop to it with no glitches.
This was yesterday. Today when I tried to connect again, the ubuntu laptop keeps trying to connect (the wifi symbol keeps animating) and doesn't connect to the network. I tried setting up a different network, removing the old one. I tried using virtualwifihotspot tool, but no results.

What might be the problem?
