how to access gmvault from behind a proxy?

I am a very satisfied user of gmvalut. But I found that I cannot use it from behind a proxy at my workplace. Is there any way to make gmvalut work in this situation?

I vaguely remember somewhere reading about imap reverse proxy or something like that but cannot find it now. Sorry for my google-fu skills.
