Razercfg freezes mouse for a tiny bit

Whenever I use razercfg on my Razer Deathadder Chroma, it freezes for like a quarter of a second. I'm trying to do visual feedback of how quickly I press my mouse by changing the color of the leds, and that disturbs gameplay because every time I click I plan on increasing the red RGB value of the color by 5 and about 5 times a second I'm planning on removing 1 from that value, so pretty much that would make gameplay impossible at all, because the mouse would be frozen at all times.

So my question is: is there any way to change the led color without freezing the mouse at all? It's ok if it works with only a little difference from the current color, since that is what I'm planning anyways.
