Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit, Firefox 43.
I use this method to obtain a listing of file names on my PC and then copy and paste it into Excel, for example.
By using file:/// in the address bar, you can display a list of files in a directory (a.k.a.folder) on the computer. For example, file:///c:/Windows/ will display a list of files and directories in the Windows directory of the C drive. By clicking on the directory names you can navigate the folders, and - within reason - display the contents of files. In that, the browser is similar to Windows Explorer.
Details displayed are name, size, and date/time last modified for each object.
The headers for each column can be used to sort the listing.
I have only managed to display the same kind of information that you migth get from using the 'dir' command in a Command window.
Is there a way to specify the data displayed? For example, to include another field such as Type or Date Last Accessed, etc?
