Keys on keyboard and 'on-screen keyboard' don't work (Win 10)

I caot use my 'two' and 'four' keys on both my keyboard and 'onscreen keyboard', whenever i try the screen flickers. I am using windows 10 (recently updated from windows 7, which had the same problem). I have tried other keyboards, the number pad on my mouse, to no effect.
