USB Flash Drive Not Accessible

I have a USB flash drive that has worked up until yesterday. I think I may have forgot to safely eject the USB drive under Windows 7 since that was the last time I remember it working. On my Ubuntu machine, I can see the drive show up in the Disks GUI utility, but there is not meta-data associated with it. Under Windows 7, the drive mounts with a drive letter but is transparent and cannot be opened, formatted, or operated on in any other way.

Any ideas on what is wrong with my drive and if it may be possible to gain access to the data on the drive?
