I'll preface this with that I'm uncertain if Gnome 3/gtk3 is at fault or VcXsrv, or a combination.
With VcXsrv 1.18.1.1 and 1.17.2.0 I can't resize some gnome 3 gui applications over ssh -X with PuTTY+VcXsrv (VcXSrv is an Xming alteative I use for better clipboard support).
Examples that can't be resized:
- gedit 3.14.3
- gnome-system-monitor 3.14.1
- gnome-font-viewer
However these can be resized:
- gnome-terminal 3.14.3
- gnome-character-map
Running VcXsrv on Windows 10 and 7 results in same behavior. VcXsrv is in multi window mode, and accessing a Centos 7 host via PuTTY. Also tried -resize xrandr and scrollbars VcXsrv options with same behavior.
The maximize button & right click to resize also does not work.
The resizing problem does not exist in Xming 6.9.0.31. All applications mentioned are resizable in Xming. Xming displayed guis also have the extra windows title bar. The windows bar maximize works, while the inteal gedit maximize button does not.
Can anyone replicate or have suggestions? Thank you!
P.S. Somewhat similar, but with chrome, and xming. X11 SSH Forwarding - Unable to resize/move Google Chrome window
P.S.S. pluma (MATE) does not even start remotely.
