After formatting and installing Windows 7, my laptop (HP 4520s) doesn't recognize the video card (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6370), instead in Device manager it says "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter". After the clean format the only thing I installed was AMD video drivers (I tried those from the HP website that are from 2011 and the latest from the AMD website). But when I reboot I get a white screen after Windows starts.
My theory is that before the drivers my laptop is not using the card at all and after installing drivers they are either faulty or the card is faulty and now when it's being used it gives me a white screen.
My question is, is it the drivers' fault or is something wrong with the graphics card? Before the format, I had the drivers installed and everything was fine until a few days ago when I started getting intermittent white screens during normal use and I formatted to fix this. Also they did not occur randomly, only when I did an action in Windows like opening a new tab, alt-tabbing between programs, drag-and-drop etc.
