Can't get my Gigabyte Brix to connect to a monitor

I was given a gigabyte brix GB-BXBT-2807 and installed the hard drive and memory. I have connected it to a Dell monitor and a vizio TV but I do not get a display. The monitor goes into power conservation mode after a while. I have a USB drive with windows 7 64 bit that I am trying to install. Any guidance would be appreciated. I am a complete novice.
