I'm trying to troubleshoot failed SSH into my home network. Network service is provided by Verizon (FIOS package), and they require us to use a Actiontec MI424WR-GEN3 router.
With the firewall set to Low and a few attempts at SSH'ing into my network (I'm SSH'd into a remote host for testing), the connection is refused immediately:
# From remote host
$ ssh -p 2522 [email protected]
ssh: connect to host @www.xxx.yyy.zzz port 2522: Connection refused
I'm guessing its some sort of Fail2Ban limiting, but its only a guess because I can't find a relevant setting. When the connection is refused immediately, there are no logs generated for the failed attempt. The only way I've found to continue is to reboot the router.
How can I stop the limiting that's occurring during my troubleshooting?
